Landscapeportal Workshop @ ICRAF

The GeoScience Lab has the pleasure of inviting you to a one day workshop on how to use the Landscapes Portal to share, download, visualize and analyse spatial data, scheduled for 12 March 2014 from 10:00am EAT time at the Lundgren Auditorium, World Agroforestry Centre. This is a follow up to the seminar done by Dr. Tor Vagen on 26th February 2014.

**Objective: Provide training on actual usage of the Landscapes Portal.**

Program: The workshop is structured around four sessions (separated by morning break, lunch and afternoon break).**

#### 1st session (Introduction)
#### Time: 9:00-10:30 will include:

- Quick Registration
- Spatial data layers
- Uploading data to the Landscapes portal
- Setting file permissions
- Downloading layers

Coffee Break

#### 2nd session (Metadata)
#### Time 11:00-12:30 will include:

- What is metadata and why it matters
- How to add metadata to your layers
- Edit styles

Lunch

#### 3nd session (Mapping)
#### Time 2:00-3:00 will include:

- Online Mapping - the new approach
- Elements of a good map
- Creating a map
- Viewing and sharing your maps
- Adding base layers

#### 4th session (Advance)
#### Time 3:15-4:15 will include:

- Linking to other web mapping services
- Spatial Queries
- Mapping your stories - integrating maps to your blogs
